Robert (Bob) Wesinger, who was known affectionately as “ReBob,” was born on August 15, 1963, in New England and passed away on November 30, 2024 in his home located in Gloucester, Virginia. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and a successful business owner who left a profound impact on all who knew him.
Robert devoted his life to his friends and family, especially his wife, Chrystal Martinez-Wesinger, with whom he shared 20 happy and peaceful years together. He was a proud father to four children: Randy, Rachael, Jonathan and Jeremy. More recently, he cherished his role as a grandfather to his two grandsons, Killian and Julian.
With a passion for craftsmanship, Robert built a successful career and company Peninsula Concrete and Steel, Inc., and was known for his ability to create pristine concrete structures. He was very well known for his loud and strong personality, never hesitating to speak the truth unapologetically. His sense of humor and wit was unmatched and appreciated by those that knew him well!
Robert believed in the importance of sharing knowledge, drawing from his own life experiences to guide others. He taught that success is achieved by showing up and working hard always, regardless of the challenges one faces. His motto of “KEEP SWINGING THE BAT” reflected his never quit approach to life.
His surviving wife, children and grandsons deeply grieve their loss, which was far too soon. He is also survived by his four siblings: Wayne, Donna, George and Jeannie, who grieve the loss of a remarkable baby brother.
As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Robert’s faith also played a significant role in his life, guiding his values, actions and becoming the foundation he relied on until his departure. A service to remember and honor Robert will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 6846 Short Lane, Gloucester, Va. 23061, on January 4, 2025 at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, honoring Robert’s life and love for our youth. His memory will live on in the hearts of many, a testament to the standard he set for those fortunate enough to know him.
