Classic Model T Fords will take to the roads of Mathews on Saturday as the Colonial Virginia Chapter of the Model T Ford Club International. The classic cars will embark on a driving tour of the county beginning at 10 a.m. at Thomas Hunter Middle School. The chapter members will head down Route 14 toward New Point Comfort Light, then make their way to Bethel Beach Road and end up back in the Court House area. Planned stops include the Mathews Maritime Museum, the Mathews Visitor and Information Center and other points of interest. Afterwards, the group will proceed to Bobby Diggs’s Model A Ford museum and then to Gwynn’s Island. In case of rain, the event will be held the following Saturday, Sept. 5.
