A portion of Brickbat Road in Mathews Court House was closed on Monday and will remain closed for approximately three weeks while VDOT remedies storm drain/sewer line conflicts that have been impacting the area’s storm drainage. The work will include conflict box construction, new drainpipes under the road, new curb inlets, new curb and gutter, and road reconstruction, according to information provided to the county by VDOT. The road closure will affect an area between the firehouse parking lot and the curve at Put-In Creek Park. It will not prevent access to Fire Station 1 or the county parking lot.
