RiverJam returns April 28

Arts on Main will hold its second annual RiverJam music festival from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 28 at Little England Farm, Hayes.
Steve and Karen Barrs will open the grounds of their historic home on the banks of the York River and Sarah Creek again this year following the success of last year’s inaugural event, said a press release.
Slapnation, a nine-member band with a four-piece rhythm section and a trio of horns, will headline the show with a repertoire of songs in a variety of styles, including Motown, blues and disco.
Three other performers will play, as well: MSG Acoustic Blues Trio, Luca Burgalassi, and the band Moniker.
MSG plays Piedmont blues and consists of Resa Gibbs (vocals and percussion), Jackie Merritt (harmonica, guitar and bones) and Miles Spicer (guitar). The band has been together for nearly 16 years and has produced four CDs.
