“Riverball,” Mathews Main Street’s bi-annual fund- raising gala and celebration of summer, will be held from 6-9 p.m. on Saturday, June 18, at the Mathews Yacht Club on Yacht Club Road, Hudgins.
This year’s theme is “Key West Comes to Mathews,” and the goal is for everyone to have “a memorable evening sunset experience,” said Bette Dillehay, chair of the Main Street Committee, in a press release. She said that the yacht club is proving to be “a worthy partner” in achieving that goal.
The food will be Key West style, said Dillehay, and dancing will be to the music of The Jangling Reinharts, a popular Richmond roots-rock band that plays a wide variety of musical styles, from the Beatles, Bob Marley, and Simon and Garfunkel to the Monkees, Van Morrison, and Barenaked Ladies—styles that are “perfect for dancing or just listening.”
