Bethlehem United Methodist Church, Bena, will strike a blow against world hunger on Saturday, Feb. 18, when it hosts its Rise Against Hunger meal packing event. Rise Against Hunger is an international nonprofit whose goal is to end hunger in third-world countries. Church members and supporters will gather at the church at 8 a.m., filling plastic bags with measured quantities of a dehydrated vegetable mixture, soy protein and rice. Last April, above, volunteers at the church packed slightly more than 10,000 meals. For information on helping out this year, contact the Rev.
