Richard Lewis Rilee, 86, of Gloucester, Va., passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2014, at the place of his birth in Gloucester.

He was the son of the late William Curtis and Meredith Stubblefield Rilee Jr., and was a lifelong member of Petsworth Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon and trustee.

Mr. Rilee was retired from the Gloucester Post Office after 24 years where he was a rural route carrier and a clerk. He was also a retired farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca C. Rilee; son, David Rilee; sister, Lucile W. Closson; grandchildren, Rachel Beck, Lucas Rilee, and Richard Rilee, and four great- grandchildren.

The family would like to give special thanks to his caregivers, Donna and Lauren.

The family received friends at the funeral home on Thursday, Dec. 11, 2014, from 6:30-8 p.m. Funeral services were held on Friday, Dec. 12, 2014, in the chapel of Andrews Funeral Home & Crematory at 2 p.m. Burial was in Petsworth Baptist Church Cemetery.
