Richard Gregory “Greg” Gibson, III, 29, of Hayes, died Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, as the result of a vehicular accident.

Greg loved to laugh, had a wonderful sense of humor and always made the best out of what he had. He also loved family and loved to eat and was known as a “clean nut.” He was preceded in death by his mother, Tammy Rollins Gibson.

He is survived by his wife, Samantha Gibson; son, Richard “Gregory” Gibson IV; father, Richard Gregory “Ricky” Gibson Jr. and companion Georgette Freiermuth; three brothers, Brandon Smoker, Dallas West, Travis West; sister, Meghan Gibson; grandmothers, Doris Gibson and Phyllis Rollins.

A funeral service conducted by the Rev. Richard Whiteheart was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013 at Union Baptist Church; interment followed in Gloucester Point Cemetery. The family received friends Tuesday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point.
