RICHARD COLLINS LAMOS

Richard Collins Lamos was born in Chicago, Illinois, on June 2,1933. He died Saturday, Sept. 2. He graduated from high school and went on to study at Beloit College earning a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry. He met the love of his life, Gayanne Marjorie von Boeselager, during a snowball fight on campus. They were married at St. Paul of the Cross Church in Park Ridge, Illinois, in 1954. Shortly after their marriage he served in the U.S. Army as a chemical engineer at Fort Detrick, Maryland. After a successful career at Dow Badische, he founded a professional recruiting firm until his official retirement.

Richard was blessed with seven beautiful children, Richard (Mary), Margaret (Charles), Katherine, Karol Anne, John, Beth (Steven), Kristen (Juan). He had 14 grandchildren and nine great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Margaret Lamos; his brothers, Jack and Donald; his wife, Gayanne, and his daughter, Katherine.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Windsor Gardens Cemetery, Dutton, Va. Memorial donations may be made to Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue, P.O. Box 1417, Gloucester, Va. 23061. Andrews Funeral Home, Gloucester, was in charge of arrangements.
