Reynold M. Bard of Hayes, passed away at his home, surrounded by family, on Thursday, August 24, 2023, just two days shy of his 83rd birthday. Ray was born August 26, 1940 in North Waterford, Maine. He joined the service as soon as he was able and spent 40 years in government service between the Air Force, Navy, National Park Service, and as a contractor. He was a consummate storyteller and lived up to his last name. He could build and repair anything, loved reading westerns, and was a connoisseur of used cars. He had a contagious laugh and a sparkle in his eye when he was working on cars, making a deal or visiting with his grandchildren.

Ray was married to the love of his life, Linda, for 55 years. They were an inseparable pair. Ray is survived by his wife, Linda, and three children: his daughter Terri (Paul), son Danny (Jan-Marie) and son Andy. Ray is also survived by six grandchildren, who lovingly referred to him as Papa: Brendin, Ellie, Emily, Tyler, Macey, and Sophie. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and many other friends and family.

A celebration of Ray’s life was held with immediate family at the home.
