REX DALY HAMM

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Rex Daly Hamm on October 25, 2023. Rex was born on May 29, 1965, in Cynthiana, Kentucky, but resided in Reedville, Virginia, at the time of his passing.

Rex is survived by his beloved daughter, Laurel Kaye (Kayte) Allen, and son-in-law Aaron, and the joys of Rex’s life, his grandsons, Gage and Grayson Allen.

Rex is also survived by his brothers, Gregory Alan (Theresa) Hamm, Harvey Garnett (Sherri) Hamm, and sister, Laura Kaye (Gary Lynn) Pergram. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey Burt and Kaye Frances Lemons Hamm.

Rex lived a vibrant and fulfilling life, touching the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Rex graduated from Harrison County High School, Cynthiana, Kentucky, in 1984. He was an all-around proficient tradesman, with his most recent employment as a skilled merchant mariner. His exemplary skills and work ethic were widely recognized and appreciated. Rex had a hearty appetite for food and life, was an avid animal lover, and loved to remain physically fit; blue was his favorite color, which matched his favorite team, the University of Kentucky Wildcats.

Rex is best described as having a great sense of humor and quick wit. His laughter could fill up the room and engage those around him. Rex will be missed dearly by family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be scheduled in Kentucky at a future date.
