A parade of fire trucks from Gloucester and Abingdon, as well as patrol cars with lights flashing and sirens blaring, made their way around Gloucester’s Emergency Communications Center on Friday afternoon to pay tribute to Liz Turner (below), who stepped down after serving 26 years as a dispatcher, looking out for all of Gloucester’s first responders. This was actually the second retirement for Turner, who served 22 years in the U.S. Navy before she began work as an emergency dispatcher.
