Rep. Wittman to hold public meeting Monday on Milford Haven USCG station

Rep. Rob Wittman (R-Montross) has come out strongly in favor of having Station Milford Haven in Mathews remain a full-time, year-round Coast Guard facility. According to a spokesman for the congressman, he has made arrangements for a public meeting on the matter at 6 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 2.
Along with the Congressman, Capt. Jennifer Stockwell, Deputy Commander of Sector Virginia, will be at the meeting, which will be held at the Piankatank Ruritan Club on Buckley Hall Road at Hudgins. She will provide any information she has about the proposed downgrade and listen to the questions and frustrations of area residents, said the spokesman.
The meeting is scheduled for approximately one hour.
