Lt. Col. Reece Allen Kain Jr., 87, U.S. Air Force-ret., of Gloucester, died on Sept. 10, 2023.

He was born March 15, 1936 in Trumann, Arkansas, and was a 1955 graduate of McCormick High School in McCormick, Arkansas. He joined the USAF where he completed his education at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. In service, he had many accomplishments during his full military career including his roles as a missile operations director and commander, as well as serving in Vietnam. Beyond the military, he was a passionate marksman and was inducted into the Virginia Skeet Shooters Hall of Fame in 2011.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Miriam (Teta) Kain, and brothers, William Kain and James Kain.

He was preceded in death by his father, Reece Allen Kain Sr.; his mother, Era Law Johnson Kain, and his brother, Robert Kain.
