RCC to host EMS symposium

Rappahannock Community College’s Glenns campus is the site of the 2023 Regional EMS Symposium, which will be held Nov. 10-12. The event brings together emergency medical services providers from across the region.
Participants will attend sessions on a variety of topics, including wilderness first aid, moulage (the art of applying mock injuries), emergency pediatric care, prehospital trauma life support and more. Continuing Education Units will be given upon completion. The tracks of study are supported by the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians.
Attendees are invited to showcase their teamwork, patient assessment and management skills in Bob Page’s Escape Room. Page will also hold a workshop on high performance ventilation. The hands-on workshop will have emergency medical technicians ventilating “patients” by bag-valve-mask, mask, endotracheal tube and supraglottic airways using state-of-the-art computerized simulators.
