RCC appoints new VP of instruction, student success

After a months-long nationwide search, Rappahannock Community College has announced Dr. Marlena Jarboe as the school’s new Vice President of Instruction and Student Success.
Jarboe has spent the last nine years in various dean positions at Blue Ridge Community College, part of the Virginia Community College System, most recently serving as Dean of Academic Affairs.
During her time at BRCC, Jarboe implemented continuing education and workforce development programs. She also helped Rockingham County Public Schools prepare underserved students aged 18-21 for gainful employment. Jarboe also assisted in developing eight new Associate of Science degrees.
Jarboe holds a Doctorate of Philosophy in Community College Leadership from Old Dominion University, a Master of Science in Computing Technology in Education from Nova Southeastern University and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Computer Information Systems from James Madison University.
