Raymond Clarence Deal, Sr., age 80, of Achilles, died at his home, Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014.

Mr. Deal was a retired waterman who was passionate about setting his eyes on the sun coming up in addition to a glimpse as it set in the evening. He would take pleasure in hunting as well as watching the Baltimore Orioles play ball.  

His parents, Roy and Martha Deal and grandson, Mark Jenkins preceded him in death.

Survivors include, wife, Pinkie; six children, Raymond C. Deal Jr. and wife Debbie, Peggy West, Brenda Shackelford and husband Irvin, John P. Deal and wife Janet, Lisa Cottee and husband Carl, Melissa Deal and Dennis Keller; 13 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

Services conducted by Pastor John Downs, were held Tuesday, 11 a.m. at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Interment followed in Windsor Garden Cemetery. The family received friends Monday from 7-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
