RAL announces Labor Day Art Show winners

The Rappahannock Art League has announced the winners in its 63rd annual Labor Day Art Show. The exhibit is on display until Sept. 27 at 19 North Main Street, Kilmarnock.
The judge, Diana L. Blanchard Gross, selected 27 works to receive ribbons and cash prizes from the 136 pieces entered. Best in Show went to “Seasons,” a punch needle fiber piece by Cheryl Mihills.
The Lella Lee Memorial Award for Overall Excellence went to Doug Mock for his watercolor “Assume the Position.”
Other awards given were: Anne D. Hayes Memorial for Excellence in Watercolor—“Williamsburg Fences” by James Warwick Jones; Marge Alderson Memorial for Best Interpretation of a Landscape—“Chasing the Wind” by Heidi Christensen; Joan Robinson Memorial for Best Mixed Media Abstract Art—“Turquoise #1” by Isabelle Robinson; Donald R.
