Mari Gibbs, left, of North won the Gwynn’s Island Civic League Foundation’s raffle for 24 tickets on a “party deck” at the Richmond Flying Squirrels baseball game on Saturday, Aug. 12. Gibbs donated the prize to Mathews County Little League, whose president, Ricky Wiatt, second from left, expressed appreciation and said he would meet with the board to determine which players would attend the game. In addition to tickets, each person attending will receive a party pack that includes Flying Squirrels merchandise. GICL Foundation member Bill Burdette gives Wiatt the winning raffle ticket.
