Rachel M. Frye, 77, of Cardinal died Wednesday, June 1, 2022.

A native of Mathews County, she was a member of Zion Baptist Church, Cardinal.

Survivors include a daughter, Koren G. Forrest; two sons, Desmond Forrest and Darryl Mason; two sisters, Inez Gwynn of Mathews, and Joyce Holland; three brothers, James Forrest Jr., Carl Kelly Sr. and Larry Kelly; six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Forrest Sr. and Mary E. Kelly; husband, Thomas Frye, and sibling, Melissa Yvette Willis.

The family received friends from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, in Howard Funeral Home, Ark. A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 9, in Newington Baptist Church, Gloucester. Burial will be held in Poplar Woods Cemetery, Cardinal.
