Rachel Annette Clements Brown, born on February 18, 1941, baked her last pan of lasagna and sheet of Toll House cookies and closed her kitchen on November 7, 2024. She has now joined the love of her life, William Rodgers Brown. Rachel was the daughter of Lloyd Graham Clements and Bessie Abernathey Clements Emory, and sister of Charles Clements. She was President of Gloucester U-Do-It Laundry, Inc.
Her greatest joy was being the mother of Cheryl Biondolillo (John), Nathan Brown, and Matthew Brown (Heather). However, she felt her crowning achievement was her grandchildren, Ryan Kittell (Sarah), Sterling Kittrell, Hannah Brown, and Hailey Brown (fiancé, Carson) and her great-grandchildren, Nelson Kittrell, Graham Kittrell and Charles Kittrell. She is survived by her older sister, Nina C. West; sister-in-law, Susan D. Clements, and brother-in-law, C. Evans Brown. In addition, Rachel is survived by three step-grandchildren, Jonathan, Samuel and Bethany Biondolillo, and stepbrother, Thomas Emory (Susan). Rachel was aunt and cousin to many.
The family would like to thank Riverside Hospice for helping her come home. We are especially thankful for the extra care provided by nurse, Heather Messick, and the compassion shown by Dr. Ko Ko Maung as he let our mother know what was before her.
The viewing will be on November 17 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Andrews Funeral Home. Services will be held at Andrews Funeral Home November 18 at 11 a.m. followed by graveside at Windsor Gardens. The Rev. Calvin Griffin will conduct all services. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 9824 Spring Branch Drive, James Store, Va. 23128.
