The 2017 Quilts of River Country show opens at noon Friday on and around Gloucester Court Green.
The show, held every two years, is hosted by Gloucester Parks, Recreation and Tourism and is staged by River Country Quilters in Gloucester, with participation from Bay Quilters in Mathews, Stingray Stitchers in Middlesex, and the public.
This year’s theme is “Quilting Outside the Block” and activities and entries will be found in buildings on the court green. In advance of the show, organizers have put quilts in many windows along Gloucester’s Main Street. Gloucester Arts on Main is also staging a quilt display.
Admission to the show is $2, which will be open from noon-4 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday.
