An exhibition of quilts created by artists of the Middle Peninsula will be on display in September at Arts on Main in Gloucester. The exhibit, which will be held for most of the month, free and open to the public.
Arranged by Gloucester Parks and Recreation, the quilt display will be shown at different sites around Gloucester Court House on Sept. 15 and 16.
An opening reception for the exhibition will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 1, at the gallery. With three active quilt guilds on the Middle Peninsula, the show offers a beautiful selection of quilts, quilting techniques and quilting styles, said a press release.
Quilting products on display will include everything from king sized to baby quilts, from wall hangings to wearables, and from tablecloths to usables, said the release. In addition, some of the quilters will be present at the opening to talk about their art.
