Mathews County Public Schools is asking the public to review a number of textbooks and instructional materials. Areas being considered are science (grades 3-5), nutrition and wellness, and hospitality and tourism. Public comment is being accepted through May 7.
The science material includes “Exploring Science All Around Us,” “Virginia Science Experience” and “STEMscopes Virginia.” “Nutrition and Wellness for Life” and “Food and Nutrition for You” are being reviewed for the Nutrition and Wellness, a Career and Technical Education course at Thomas Hunter Middle School. “Hospitality Services” and “Hospitality and Tourism Management,” for another CTE course, are also among the textbooks being reviewed.
