Providing addiction recovery groups A Place to Meet for three years

For three years, nonprofit organization A Place to Meet has been just that for those in addiction recovery. The sign out front of the establishment at 7055 Linda Circle, Hayes, reads, “Recovery Happens Here,” and it really does, said founder and CEO Paul Fitz-Simons.
The mission of A Place to Meet is to provide and maintain a premises that offers space for meetings and fellowship, networking, resources and coordination of recovery-oriented support for individuals and groups.
A Place to Meet is not affiliated with any other organizations, programs or groups but is instead intended to serve as a location for those other organizations to hold group meetings. FitzSimons said they also have resources and connections for those in addiction who need further help.
FitzSimons said it all started during the pandemic. A lot of places that had allowed these groups to meet, such as churches, were unable to allow them to hold meetings indoors. They went to meeting outside under a tent, in the August...
