PRLGA members participate in state team match play

Six members of the Piankatank River Ladies’ Golf Association played in the 77th Virginia State Women’s Team Match play at Indian Creek Yacht and Country Club in Kilmarnock on August 25-27.
It was the first time the PRLGA league qualified for the event. They competed along with 23 other qualifying club teams from throughout the commonwealth.
The format for the match was qualifying stroke play on Friday and flighted match play Saturday and Sunday. The PRLGA team made it to Saturday’s semifinals, losing to the number-one seed Twin Lakes Golf Club in a close match score of 30-24.
