Six members of the Piankatank River Ladies’ Golf Association participated in the 2023 Virginia State Golf Association’s Senior and Super Senior (Age 65+) Women’s Amateur Championships at the Omni Homestead Resort in Hot Springs.
Michele Meanley of Hallieford, Kay Stout of Heathsville, Vicky Gunn of Cobbs Creek, Nina Carter of Gloucester, Ellen McGowan of Wicomico, and Christy Pitts of Deltaville, competed on the historic (1892) Old Course at the Homestead.
Carter advanced to the semifinals in the Senior Second Flight Consolation Round. Pitts placed first in Super Senior Fifth Flight Consolation, Stout took first in Senior Championship Consolation and McGowan won first place in the Super Senior Fourth Flight.
