Pressing Strings to perform Saturday at Flat Iron

Pressing Strings of Annapolis, Maryland, will perform indie, soul, and groove music in a concert beginning at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Flat Iron Crossroads, Gloucester.
Doors open at 5:30, with the food truck Old City Barbecue and drinks at the FIX Bar. Tickets are $20 online at flatironcrossroads.com. Children 12 and under are admitted free of charge.
Pressing Strings members are Jordan Sokel on guitar and vocals, Nick Welker on bass and vocals, and Justin Kruger on drums and vocals. The trio draws on such well-known influences as Bob Dylan, Bob Marley, Paul Simon, Bill Withers, Al Green, Marvin Gaye and Led Zeppelin, said a press release, as well as more under-the-radar artists such as Taj Mahal, R.L. Burnside, Junior Kimbrough and Nick Drake. They released a new album this month, “Minutes to Midnight,” available on all streaming platforms.
