Three short films that tell the stories of Gloucester’s Woodville Rosenwald School, Rosewell Plantation and the Battle of the Hook were screened late last month in a program held at Flat Iron Crossroads, Ware Neck.
Gloucester Parks, Recreation & Tourism hired Collector Studios from Richmond to create these films last spring with the goals of sharing local history, educating students, and promoting cultural tourism, holding the premiere on Sunday, July 28. All three films featured local talent and some of the scenes were filmed at the actual locations.
People featured in the films included Dianne Carter de Mayo, Mark Snider, Deborah Billups, Joelle Forrest, Marion Randall, Alyssa Wilson, Dr. Wesley Wilson, Dr. David Brown and Thane Harpole.
After the screening, Gloucester Museum Director Robert Kelly and Gloucester Tourism Coordinator Susan Ammons led a discussion with some of the actors about their experiences during the filming process and gave more information about the locations...
