The American Legion Gloucester Post 75 Juniors baseball team was scheduled to open up state tournament play last night after winning its district championship last weekend.
The Gloucester players posted a 10-2 regular season record and had to take two out of three games with Williamsburg Post 39 to win the district title. Williamsburg prevailed, 7-4, in the first game but Gloucester came back to win, 8-1 and 6-2, in a doubleheader with Post 39 on Saturday. The wins boosted the overall team record to 14-4 and put Gloucester in the state tournament....
