The third annual Mathews Polar Plunge, to raise money for school supplies for students in the community, will be held at 8 a.m. Saturday at Haven Beach.
“Those who are brave enough make a $10 pledge to run into the freezing water for the cause and those not as brave/crazy can make a donation,” event organizer Amy Ashberry said.
There will be a donation bucket at the beach during the event or people can donate by cash, check, or electronic methods to Ashberry. Proceeds benefit the annual school supply giveaway/back to school event in August.
