The Gloucester Point Rotary Club will hold its annual golf tournament on Friday, Sept. 24, at King Carter Golf Club in Irvington. Proceeds from this event will benefit the club’s community projects and scholarship fund.
Putting and chipping events will be held at 10:30 a.m. The captain’s choice tournament itself will begin with a shotgun start at noon. The contest is limited to 28 four-member teams. The best service club team will receive the coveted Gloucester Point Rotary Club Trophy. The cost is $240 per team or $60 per person.
Along with the traveling trophy, the top three teams will also receive awards. Participants in the tournament will also vie for a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro. Anyone who gets a hole-in-one on the par 3, 162-yard hole will win the car, which is being sponsored by Ken Houtz Chevrolet-Buick of Gloucester. USGA rules apply to all golfers.
