Gloucester resident Matthew Pierro has received a citation from the Virginia Saltwater Fishing Tournament for the catch of a flounder weighing 6½ pounds on Aug. 31 in the lower York River.
Also qualifying for a citation, as reported in the Sept. 18 vasaltwaterjournal.com, was Robert F. Flippin of Gloucester, for the catch of a sheepshead on Sept. 8 weighing 10 pounds, 9 ounces, in Chesapeake Bay.
