Two students from the Rodgers Voice and Piano Studio participated in the Peninsula Music Teachers Association Piano Olympics on Nov. 5 at Peninsula Korean Baptist Church in Newport News. The Piano Olympics is held each fall and focuses on performance of technique, including playing scales, chords, cadences and arpeggios. Ribbons and medals are awarded. Jackson Scalf, above, entered five events and received gold ribbons in all five, and earned one gold medal. Catherine King (not shown) entered three events and received gold ribbons in all three.
