Phyllis Garber Licht Hall, 83, of Urbanna, died Friday, Sept. 27, 2013.
She was preceded in death by her son, Tom Licht. She is survived by her daughters, Terry Smith (Matt) of Water View and Libbie Cohen (Steve) of Port Haywood. She was also loved by her granddaughter, Jenny Neff Lawson (Tom); grandsons, Eric Cohen, Nick Cohen, Jamison Smith (Megan), Sam Cohen, and Thomas Licht. She will also be greatly missed by her great-granddaughters, Leela and Lacy Booth. She is also survived by her brother, Ed Garber of Florida, and a niece and nephews.
Phyllis was born in Sangerville, Va. She spent her years raising her family in Richmond. After a short time in Mathews, she eventually settled in Urbanna. She was active in many businesses in Urbanna but most notably as founder of Atherston Hall Bed and Breakfast. She loved to cook and she welcomed many people into her home over the years. Phyllis was always ready for lively conversation and a big Urbanna welcome.
