Peter Charles Levasseur of Gloucester, died Dec. 20, 2014.
Born in New Orleans June 30, 1964, Peter served in the United States Navy from 1986-1990, much of that time spent on the USS Enterprise. He continued his sailing for the next 10 years on the Mississippi and Delta Queen Steamships.
Post Hurricane Katrina, Peter relocated to Gloucester. He became an active member in the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 58 in Gloucester in 2007. During that time he served as chapter treasurer for two years and assisted on many committees. He spent many hours working with other disabled veterans on annual fundraising activities.
Peter was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Mary Levasseur, and his brothers, Carl and Thomas Levasseur.
He is survived by two sisters, Susan Harris (Gerald) of Williamsburg and Sally Ralicki of New Orleans. He also leaves four nephews, Craig Harris (Danielle) of Williamsburg, Benjamin and Jeffrey Levasseur, and Brian Ralicki of New Orleans, and one great-nephew, Hunter Harris.
A memorial service will be held at a later time in New Orleans.
