The Pet Castle, located at 17 Plaza, Ordinary, has had a number of changes in recent months, owner Richard Clayton said. Customers can see the changes for themselves if they visit the store during its "Petoberfest" celebration on Saturday, Oct. 15, which will include a pet groomer, animal shelter representatives and a chance for customers to drop off food to benefit the Peninsula Pet Pantry, www.peninsulapetpantry.org.
Clayton, who owns the business with his wife Elaine, said they have expanded their inventory in recent months. They now offer the Wellness brand, which he said has proper nutrients for pets.
They now offer a house brand of litter for small animals, Clayton said, which is made in Virginia. "I like to sell things made in Virginia and in the United States," he said.
Also, The Pet Castle has an expanded, online store at its website, thepetcastle.net, with thousands of extra products that there’s not room to stock at the shop.
