Paisley Scruggs, above, a fourth grade student at Botetourt Elementary School, was one of five students to receive a People’s Choice Award in Palette Pals program during a reception held at Arts on Main, the sponsoring organization, on Nov. 30. The reception honored participating artists from all five Gloucester elementary schools. Sponsored by artists John Brandon Sills and Katey Phelps, awards also went to Chloe Shreves of Bethel Elementary, Kaleah Hoffecker of Abingdon Elementary, Macie Baker of Achilles Elementary, and Anabel Haywood of Petsworth Elementary. The next Palette Pals session, for second and third grade students, will begin in February. Students should expect to receive information about it from their schools.
