“Annie’s Meadow,” an acrylic painting by Lara Brady was the winner of the People’s Choice Award at the Labor Day Art Show held this month at the RAL Art Center, Kilmarnock. Brady said in her artist’s statement that she draws inspiration from the land, water, and foliage of coastal Virginia and that her artistic practice centers on the interplay between “meticulous realism and evocative abstraction.” The LDAS exhibit and the gallery’s Co-op exhibit are both on display until Sept. 27.
