Penny Lishman Williams went to be with her Heavenly Father on February 11, 2024, after a brave struggle with Alzheimer’s. She was born on June 18, 1942 in Hampton, Va. to Harry and Edna Lishman. She graduated from Hampton High School in 1960. Penny began her career at NASA-Langley Research Center, where she worked on the Mercury Project. She then moved to Mathews, Va., where she was the owner and operator of Country Charm Florist and Julia’s Florist. She returned to NASA-Langley as a program analyst until her retirement in 2005. After retirement, she went back to work at NASA-Langley as a contractor and retired again in 2015. She was a member of Job’s Daughters and Eastern Star for 65 years. Penny was preceded in death by her parents and her loving grandchildren, Nathan Faison and Nicole Burke; and sister, Crystal “Kristy” L. Frainie. Penny leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 27 years, Robert “Bobby” H. Williams; her children, Robert “Robby” E. Faison Jr. (Lori), Michele Faison Guy (Jimmy), Troy P. Faison (Aimee), Clinton (Josh) J. Faison (Danielle); 15 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Linda L. O’beirne (David); brother-in-law, Eddie Frainie, and her lifelong friend of 56 years, Ruth White. Penny’s most cherished moments were spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 29 at 2 p.m. at Providence Baptist Church, 3501 Providence Road, Hayes, Va. 23072.
