Peggy Jean Jenkins, 80, of Carrollton, died on Friday, May 10, 2024, at home.

She was born on Oct. 25, 1943 in Wilmington, N.C.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William C. Prevatte Sr. and Christine (Collins) Prevatte; four siblings, Sue House, Judy Gardner, Brenda Ivey and Billy Prevatte Jr.

Survivors include her husband, Luther Jenkins; daughter, Lisa Strickler; son, Richard Martin Jr. of Carrollton; stepdaughter, Dora Turgeon of Barhamsville; sister, Rita Williamson of Newport News; grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

The family received friends at Riverside Baptist Church of Newport News from 1-1:45 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, followed by funeral service at 2 o’clock. Interment followed in Rosewell Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Hogg Funeral Home, Hayes, was in charge.
