Peasley basketball drops two, beats Ware

The Peasley Middle School basketball team dropped a pair of district games in recent action, but also notched a win at Ware Academy.

Peasley fell to Page Middle School, 65-23, on Monday as Cody Brown led the Eagles with 14 points and Nick Tolefson chipped in nine. The Pride’s only lead of the game was at 3-2 after Brett Lindsay hit a three-point shot from the corner. Grayson Womble led the Peasley effort with two three-pointers.

The Pride bowed to the visiting Tabb Tigers, 55-25, last Thursday. Womble led Peasley with 10 points and Xander Cook contributed five. The Pride tallied five three-pointers on the night, including two from Womble and one each from Eliel Donald, Lindsay and Cook.

Womble poured in 20 points in the Peasley, 44-38, upset Ware Academy on Friday. Eighteen of Womble’s points came from three-point territory. Isaiah Spencer added 10 points in the win.
