The Piankatank Community League, Harcum, will be holding community events later this month in honor of the holiday season.
The league’s holiday social dinner will be held on Thursday, Dec. 21 at 6:30 p.m. The meal event is open to all. At 7:15 p.m., guest speaker Monique Raposa, executive director of the Bread for Life Food Pantry in Gloucester, will talk about the pantry’s mission and how the community can assist. Attendees are encouraged to bring canned goods to donate to the food pantry.
On Wednesday, Dec. 27, the league will hold a holiday movie night for children between the ages of six and 13 years at 6:30 p.m. Snacks, beverages and popcorn will be provided. A selection of cartoons, followed by a Christmas movie, will be shown on the PCL’s large-screen television, which was donated by Miller’s Services. Call 804-815-3479 to reserve your child’s spot.
