Pauline Elizabeth Hurst, 93, of Grimstead, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015, at West Point Convalescent Center.

Pauline loved working in the public and taking care of Owen, her husband, during his illness for 17 years. She loved doing her hair and make-up and opening her home to others for food and fellowship.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Ramsey and Edith Bell Houser; her husband, Owen Hurst; her daughter and only child, Kay Hobgood, and her sister-in-law, Janet Hurst Godsey.

She is survived by her granddaughter, Shanna L Hobgood-Johnson and her husband Brian D. Johnson of Toano, Va.; her son-in-law, Nelson E. Hobgood of Williamsburg, Va., and two great-granddaughters, Kayla Dale Johnson and Kasey Lee Johnson, both of Toano.

A graveside service was held only for family and close friends on Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at 3 p.m. at Gwynn’s Island Cemetery, Grimstead.
