Paul German Deal, 82, of Ark, Va., passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2012 in Richmond, Va.

He was born and raised in Gloucester County, Va. and was the son of the late John Paul and Mabel German Deal. He retired from the Newport News Shipyard after 40 years of service as Captain of Plant Protection and Safety.

He was a lifelong member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Gideons International, and the Men’s Group of Olive Branch United Methodist Church.
  He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Nellie Mae Deal; son, Warren Deal and his wife Becky; daughter, Melinda Deal; grandchildren, Eowyn Deal, Erin Deal, and Zachary Horsley.

The family received friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 from 6:30-8 p.m. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at 11 a.m. in Ebenezer Baptist Church by the Rev. Richard Ford and the Rev. Ray Goude Sr. Burial was in the church cemetery.
