Patrick Grant Slavy, 87, of Gloucester, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2011, in Riverside Regional Medical Center.
He was born in McDowell, W.Va., and was retired from the maintenance department of the Maryland State Parks. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Gloucester.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Willa Mae Slavy. He is survived by his children, Patricia Voight and her husband Bud of Smithfield, Va., Kathy Strunk and her husband Ricky of Wingate, N.C., Richard Slavy and his wife Doris of Thurmont, Md., and Jerry Slavy of South Norfolk, Va.; his brother, Jim Slavy; 11 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Monday, June 27, 2011, at 11 a.m. in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery in Gloucester.
Andrews Funeral Home, Gloucester, was in charge of arrangements.
