Two candidate forums held in Mathews last week gave residents an opportunity to learn about candidates for the board of supervisors. Both events were packed with standing-room-only crowds and included a chance for people to meet the candidates afterward outside and ask them questions individually.
Large crowds turned out for last week’s candidate forums for Mathews candidates, including last Wednesday’s PATH forum at the Cobbs Creek Arts Center (above).
Seven of the nine supervisor candidates attended the first forum, sponsored by PATH (People Aging in Their Homes) and held last Wednesday at the Cobbs Creek Arts Center, while eight supervisor candidates attended the second forum, sponsored by the Gwynn’s Island Civic League and held the following evening at the civic center. Supervisors Paul Hudgins and Jackie Ingram did not attend the first forum; Ingram was not present at either.
