Mathews Rotary Club held its second annual Party With a Purpose on Saturday at Williams Wharf. This year’s well-attended fundraising event was held to support Nelda Gibbs and the county’s Meals on Wheels program. The Roadducks entertained the crowd and food was provided by On the Flip Side, Backwoods BBQ and Short Lane Ice Cream. All donations and net proceeds from the event go directly to Meals on Wheels. Donations are still being accepted at mathewsrotaryclub.org/party. Last year, the event raised money for rebuilding the New Point Comfort Lighthouse Observation Deck. Gibbs is shown here on the stage with Rotary Club president Jack White.
