Gloucester Parks, Recreation and Tourism is sponsoring Park After Dark from 8-11 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 11 at Beaverdam Park’s Main Entrance (only).
Those coming out can participate in fishing, boating, biking or hiking after hours. All activities require head lamps. The fee is $5 and all rental fees apply. The deadline to sign up is Friday.
KARATE: Karate classes for ages 4 and older will be held on Mondays and Thursdays at T.C. Walker from Aug. 14 to Oct. 9 or Aug. 17 to Oct. 12. Four classes are offered for students of all levels, including a family class where adults and youth work together to learn. Fees are $35-$45 and the deadline to register is Aug. 7 (for the Monday classes) or Aug. 10 (for the Thursday classes).
THE FULL HIKE: The Full Hike (a 9.5-mile trek from one end of Beaverdam Park to the other) will be held on Saturday, Aug. 19 beginning at 7 a.m. at the park’s Main Entrance. Those planning on taking part are encouraged to bring water and snacks, wear sturdy shoes and dr...
