Oxford organist to perform at Arts at Abingdon

Organist Benjamin Sheen of Oxford, England, will perform a concert at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 6, at Abingdon Episcopal Church, Route 17, White Marsh. This is part of the Arts at Abingdon Concert Series.
Admission is free, with a free-will offering accepted.
Sheen is the newly appointed sub-organist at Christ Church Cathedral in Oxford. Hailed as “brilliant” by the New York Times, he is the 2013 winner of the Pierre S. du Pont First Prize in the inaugural Longwood Gardens Organ Competition. He also received Second Prize and the Jon Laukvik prize at the St. Alban’s International Organ Competition 2013.
After seven years in New York City as associate organist at St. Thomas Church in New York City, Sheen accepted the post at Christ Church Cathedral beginning January 2020.
